Eva-Maria Fach and Jenny Markert from the Institute of Medical Sociology at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg used data from the Third German Socialmedical Panel of Employees to explore social inequalities in access to and utilization of rehabilitation. They showed that persons with low socioeconomic status apply for rehabilitation more frequently. This was mediated by poorer health. The full publication can be found here.
